Join us for a day in our yurt learning to make the ULTIMATE bacon butty.
We'll start the day by making a sourdough starter before moving on to produce a delicious sourdough loaf.
Next we'll meet the pigs and learn about how to raise pigs for meat. We cover housing and welfare, choosing a breed, feed and take a look at the essential legal requirements.
Later we cure a piece of belly pork to make streaky bacon and learn about how to smoke it over woodchips.
To finish it all off we learn about growing tomatoes and make them into a delicious home produced tomato ketchup.
Courses include tea, coffee and pastries on arrival, a glorious lunch and then tea, coffee and cake in the afternoon.
You will take home your sourdough loaf, piece of belly pork to finish off curing into bacon at home, tomato sauce, sourdough starter, recipe cards and hopefully a big smile and huge sense of achievement!
Courses run from 9:30 - 16:30
The atmosphere is relaxed, the delivery enthusiastic and the content both enjoyable and educational.
Our course numbers are kept small to ensure that you get the most from the day.
